Therapy on the Eastside

EMBRACE life after unexpected change

Lisa Farsje provides online individual therapy in Seattle, Kirkland, Bellevue and throughout Washington State

Huge life changes are stressful, but when they are unexpected, it can feel like the world is imploding on itself. Sometimes life takes such a surprising twist, we hardly know what to do next. I commend you for exploring ways to get individualized support for yourself.

Before coming into therapy, clients often worry that counseling might uncover something horrible about themselves. But, they are also curious about all the thoughts, feelings and memories that seem to beg for attention. They want to know themselves better, make sense of the past, and understand how the past affects them now. They hope there might be a way to live with more ease and self-compassion. That’s when they reach out to find a therapist who will walk with them on this journey.

After a while in therapy, clients tell me it’s a relief to explore how their thoughts, feelings, experiences and beliefs interact. They’re relieved to talk with a therapist who offers more than one path for healing. We come together with compassion & curiosity, working towards acceptance. In this guided exploration clients can start to notice they’ve adopted a harsh, perfectionistic view of themselves. They begin to question the limiting beliefs they’ve absorbed about their identity, body, relationships and even their purpose in life. When clients start feeling more compassionate towards their minds and bodies, they start to feel a sense of freedom again.
